This past weekend I flew to Tokyo just for a quick weekend trip, which was absolutely not long enough but it was better than not going at all! The reason for my visit was to meet up with some close friends who hadn’t been to Japan before, so I was able to act as their tour guide BUT on the condition that they’d get dragged along to the ‘Nostalgic 2 Days’ classic car show in Yokohama for a couple of hours. They thought it was pretty cool, but not on the same level as I did – it was really something special!
Aside from the show we also did some exploring around Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku and Akihabara, including plenty of shopping and eating some delicious okonomiyaki (which is like a Japanese pancake made of cabbage and noodles!) some spicy tebasaki chicken wings and some amazing soba noodles – yum.
It was so great to be able to catch up with a few different Japanese friends at Nostalgic 2 Days, plus I met the owner of this genuine GT-R who asked me to sit in his car for a photo! (Thanks Shunsuke for sending me this pic!)
Anyway this is just a very quick post, but stay tuned for more detailed event coverage including highlights and heaps of photos very soon.
